Based upon fees collected from the American Indian prestige license plate, the Louisiana Governor's Office on Indian Affairs has announced that they are accepting applications from Louisiana American Indian students enrolled in higher education institutes. Applications are due on May 15, 2015. ..
Entergy Louisiana has announced that it has made a donation of over $25,000 to the American Indian Scholarship Fund. In advocating for our students pursuing a higher education, Entergy has designated that at least 49% of the funding be designated as preference for United Houma Nation applicants. UHN tribal leaders would like to extend their appreciation of Entergy's contribution and support for our students. ..

From today until September 19th, tribal youth are able to vote online in the UHN Youth Council Elections. Additionally, tribal youth will be operating a booth at the September 20-21st UHN Powwow where tribal youth can vote in person. Voting will close at 3pm Sunday, September 21, 2014. Election results will be announced at the close of the powwow. ..
