We are excited to announce that KUHN 88.9FM will be returning to online streaming beginning Monday, July 25 with Ms. Gloria Fonseca behind the microphone from 7am to noon Monday through Friday.  KUHN is the noncommercial, educational radio station under the umbrella of the United Houma Nation.  Currently its broadcast range is approximately 15 miles in circumference from the Golden Meadow location.  The station serves as a means to educate and inform the tribal community as well as a much needed opportunity to communicate with tribal citizens immediately before and after disasters.  Tribal Councilman, Donny Verdin from Galliano is pleased to see the entire tribal community receive the same opportunity to access the station and sees it as a much needed tool to ensure the community is informed and has a voice.  "Growing programming will take time and the help of many volunteers; however, I am so honored to have Ms. Gloria on staff to mentor and guide us in that process," stated Councilman Verdin. ..

Our next phase is to conduct the general repair to allow utilities to be reconnected such as water and electricity. This phase will include replacing broken windows, repairing ceiling and flooring caused by years of leaking from the roof, and updating and repairing plumbing and electrical. ..
