Student Conservation Association Taking Applications for Summer Interns

The Student Conservation Association recently reached out to the United Houma Nation to seek assistance with reaching UHN college students who are interested in participating in a 12-week summer internship at 5 different national wildlife refuges in the southeastern US.  Interested students need to act fast as applications are due next Friday, April 4, 2014.

College students that self-identify as American Indian or Alaska Native are eligible to apply for 12-week, expense-paid, summer internships at five different national wildlife refuges in the Southeast, including places like Florida and Puerto Rico. Interns will engage in a variety of conservation and resource protection projects. Duties may include: wildlife/biological surveys, invasive species management, GIS/GPS mapping, maintenance, environmental education, and visitor services.
