Louisiana Flooding Impacts UHN Tribal Citizens

Posted by United Houma Nation on Sunday, August 14, 2016

As the rains begin to subside, UHN leaders and staff are beginning to hear from our tribal citizens in the affected areas of their losses.  First and foremost we are relieved to hear that our citizens are safe; however, their homes, vehicles and personal belongings are not fairing as well.

Experience has taught many of our tribal citizens that it is never too early to begin the process of recovery.  Louisiana Homeland Security has put together a comprehensive Emergency Guide that will aid all Louisiana citizens with recovery that will step you through in detail the necessary steps from start to finish in the recovery process.  To access the guide, click HERE.

As additional information and potential resources become available, please stay tuned to UHN media channels (website, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and KUHN).  Please know the thoughts and prayers of your fellow tribal citizens are with you during this time.
