Entergy Louisiana Donates to American Indian Scholarship Fund for UHN Tribal Citizens

Posted by United Houma Nation on Sunday, April 12, 2015

Entergy Louisiana has announced that it has made a donation of over $25,000 to the American Indian Scholarship Fund.  In advocating for our students pursuing a higher education, Entergy has designated that at least 49% of the funding be designated as preference for United Houma Nation applicants.  UHN tribal leaders would like to extend their appreciation of Entergy's contribution and support for our students.

According to the American Indian Scholarship Fund, preference will be given to Houma Nation scholars attending both mainstream and tribal colleges.  The set aside from Entergy can actually increase for tribal scholars who attend tribal colleges as the pool of funds is larger.  Applications for the 2015-2016 school year will be accepted until May 31, 2015.

Who is eligible?

  • Enrolled tribal members and descendants (parents and grandparents) are eligible
  • Applicants must be full-time students
  • The application process is completely online.  Applications can be accessed at www.collegefund.org/scholarships.
  • Apply for the Full Circle Scholarship

According to the American Indian Scholarship Fund, applicants will be notified in late July/early August.
